About

The directionless, infinite expanse of space.
The crushing depths of the ocean.
I attempt to create and alter sounds with an overarching theme of the abyss, making soundtracks to stories, concepts and characters, real or imagined.

I first started making my own music with the inspiration of the Dungeons and Dragons campaign I was running at the time, starting with themes for the players characters as a way of connecting them with the world I was building as I, a somewhat socially inept nerd, was incapable of at the time. This raw inspiration that I was granted by my other creative endeavor allowed me to pursue music creation with a blunt, headfirst approach where I could mostly ignore rules and theory and make whatever sounded good to me as long as my faltering laptop could handle it. I did music for my HSC and although I didn't do terribly well I still managed to get admission into the course I was looking for at the Australian Institute of Music (AIM), managing to get almost one year of music production and composition learning done before COVID came around and I was suddenly unable to make friends, touch the expensive equipment or participate in classes that I would have paid more attention in if I were actually there.

After dropping out, I took the knowledge that I had managed to attain and continued on music as a hobby, though I'll take commissions every now and then if I feel the subject is interesting enough. Thank you very much for reading, and I hope you enjoy listening to the music as much as I enjoy making it.

Sincerely,
Jankbox.
